Second, the emerging collaboration between providers and payers will move health care toward consumer-directed care, quality transparency, and Accountable Care Organizations. Our panel will discuss the impact of these disruptions on payers, providers and end consumers by exploring various questions such as: How can incumbent payers position themselves to take advantage of the shift towards individual consumer insurance? Who are some market entrants that may pose threats to health insurance incumbents? What are the some challenges that providers will face due this disruption? Industry experts from both prominent biotechnology and pharmaceutical companies will discuss how their organizations’ relationships and interactions with patients have evolved. The panel will share insights into the patient-focused strategies they have employed, as well as the various challenges and opportunities this evolving dynamic presents.
